Stairs

Stairs take us up, they take us down. Sometimes they take us to bed, sometimes to work, sometimes between two points on a map. We climb them, descend them, stand on them. We look at them as both an effort to climb and a shortcut. They are old and worn. They are modern and contemporary. They can be used as a metaphor, an architectural element, a link.
